Welcome back from the weekend!

Art 1 = "Line Designs"

You will continue to learn about what it takes to create a "good" design. Today the focus for the music inspired line designs will be value, variety, and composition. I want to encourage you to use at least 3 values of grey. Your pencil can make light marks, medium marks, and dark marks. Use these values to help create a mood for your designs. I want your design to appear as if it goes on beyond the page. I would like for each design to touch each side of your rectangle. Remember to use a variety of thicknesses and types of lines to add to the expressiveness.

Art 2 = "Exit Through The Gift Shop"

--What are some differences between "Mr. Brainwash" and "Banksy"? Be specific!

--Is the name "Mister Brainwash" fitting for Theirry? How so or why not?

--Would you consider Theirry an artist? Why or why not?

--What makes someone a good artist? What qualities should a good artist have?

--What makes someone a bad artist? What makes their art worthless?

--How do you put a $ value on a work of art? If you had the money, would you buy work from Banksy? Would you buy work from Mister Brainwash?

--What is your opinion of Theirry? (Is he a genius, crazy, mentally ill, a hoarder, a phony, a poser, a loyal friend, a smart business man?)

--What do you think that the art world feels towards "Mister Brainwash"? (art collectors, street artists, friends, family, and you)

--What do you think that the art world feels towards "Banksy"?

--Do you think that as many people would have gone to Mister Brainwash's show if it weren't for hype and the endorsements by Banksy and Shepard Fairey?

--What is the statement Banksy is trying to make with the documentary "Exit Through the Gift Shop"?

Copy paste the questions into a word or pages document and answer them to the best of your ability. No group or peer work! No internet research for others opinions!!
