1. What stands out the most in the sculptures when you first view it?

2. Explain why you notice the element you mention in number 1.

3. How has contrast been used?

4. How has repetition been used?

5. What leads your eye around from place to place?

6. What other things interest you about this artwork?

  1. 1.The big circle in the middle.
2.Because its bigger then all the other shapes.
3.Some shapes are darker then others and the others are either shiny or rusted kinda but i like that about it its not all the same.
4.Repetition was used alot in this project because they used the same shape and put it all over the project it makes your eyes wonder.
    5.The use of repetition((the circles)).
6.How its came out and just knowing that they made it up all on their own.
    7.I wouldn't change a thing about it.

  2. 1.) What stands out the most in the sculpture is the way it bends back at an slant.
2.) The reason why I noticed this is because it is one of the most dominate elements in the piece.
3.)Contrast is used because most of the sculpture is dull and rusted looking but there are certain elements that are shiny and stand out.
4.) Repetition is used in the form of circles that go throughout the piece.
5.) The thing that leads my eye around the piece the angles meet at a point and then go off in different directions.
6.) Another thing that interests me about this piece is the over all look of it from the front it looks flat, except for the bucket, however if you walk around it you can see that it's 3D all around it.
7.) The way that I would improve this is to replace the barbwire with the original pulley idea and also maybe do something about the blue in the main circle form the grinder.

  3. 1. The big circle stands out the most.
    2. It's the center of the sculpture.
    3. Contrast is used by the rusted pieces and the shiny pieces.
    4. Repetition is used by the circles.
    5. The lines made by the base and the hook.
    6. The size.
    7. I would have made the big circle out of thicker metal and used a better looking hook.

  5. 1. The first thing that stands out to me when i first view it is the paint bucket that is hanging out to the side. 2. I notice it because it is just off to side and hanging. 3. Contrast has been used in the way that there are random objects that come together to make a great piece of work. 4. Repetition has been used in the way that they repeat the diagonal lines in many different places of the sculpture. 5. I think my eyes follow the diagonal lines that go through out the piece. 6. The random pieces that come together interest me about this artwork. 7. I would improve this maybe just by adding some sort of design or something of some sort to the mid section of the project.

    4. there are a lot of circles
    5. the circles make your eyes follow

  7. 1.The base stands out the most when I first look at this piece of art.
2.I notice the base first because it isn't a part of the repetition.
3.The contrast is the use of the older rustic metal and the newer shinier metal. They used this to make certain points come out first.
4.The repetition of circles is used to connect each piece.
5.The repetition of the circles leads you from one place to the next because of the contrast and repetition of the circles.
    6. Another item that interests me is the paint bucket off to the side.
7.Make the piece have a little more contrast and hide the welds a little better.

  9. 1. The big circle in the middle with the smaller shiny circle stands out the most to me.
    2. I notice it because it is the biggest circle and the shiny metal behind it really stands out.
    3. Contrast has been used by the way that there is darker and lighter colors of metal and then shiny and also dull metal.
    4. Repetition has been used by the way that there are circles of all sizes recurring throughout the sculpture.
5.Having the repetition of circles and just the way it is all layed out causes your eye to move around from place to place.
    6. What interests me about this artwork is the way that the whole sculpture is designed and also the way that the materials used are things that you wouldn't commonly think of for a sculpture.
    7. I would have incorporated some more circles of shiny metal in to the sculpture so that it would flow more.

  10. 1. What stands out the most in this sculptures is the way that it was assembled. They were very creative.
    2. I notice the element that I mentioned in number 1, due to the fact that they used stuff that you could find in a junk yard and assembled to make a great art piece.
    3. Contrast has been used by the different kinds of metals, and opacity that is shown.
    4. Repetition has been used by the use of circles in this art piece.
    5. The things that they used to attached each piece is very eye catching.
    6. The empty paint bucket that is used.
    7. Maybe make the hook come down with manual handle or something and make some pieces more shiner, but other than that it is a great project.
