Work Day!

The Visual Art Scholastic Event is 19 school days away! You must be finished and have your artist intent forms completed by Feb. 16th! Those participating in VASE need to get busy and keep talking to an absolute minimum!

Art 2-4 students not participating in VASE, you should be working on your personal narrative projects. You have the same due date as VASE kids, Feb. 16th!

Art 1 students are working on finishing up paint mixing notes, face drawing, and their backgrounds. All faces and background work is due this Friday! The paint mixing notes are due TODAY! You will begin painting as soon as you get your background approved! The painting portion due date is to be announced....

Color Theory Review & Paint Mixing

Open your art folders and pick your favorite color palette/pattern that you've created. If you have not created one, or you do not like any of the ones you have go to...

Now print a copy of the pattern to the color pinter and cut and paste it into your journal.

In your journal add the following... you will mix a tiny bit of these together and paint a tiny swatch out to the side and label it.

red + yellow = O (dot of paint that you mix)

yellow + blue =

red + blue =

red + green =

blue + orange =

yellow + violet =

black + white =

white + red =

white + yellow =

white + blue =

white + orange =

white + green =

white + violet =

black + red =

black + yellow =

black + blue =

black + orange =

.... and so on....

Your journal entries should all be turned in by today, even if you had absences they are due. If you do not get them turned in, you will be in mandatory "Zero Hall" after school today.

Those Art 1 students who are finished, we will be finally finishing up on the Portrait Drawing Projects, and you will have an "in progress" critique today.

Upper level art students who art NOT VASE participants, you still have the same criteria and assignment due date as the contest participants. SO GET BUSY!

"VASE" students need to be working hard on your art projects that will be for the Visual Art Scholastic Event! The contest will be Feb. 18th so that gives you almost 25 class days to work! You NEED to be coming in for all Pass Times and extra time through out the day! You also must be working on these projects outside of school too! Today I will be getting your title and information to formally enter you into the contest.

Good Riddance and New Year Hopes and Dreams

Happy New Year! 2012 is finally here!!! This is a new year for us all to start over fresh and make new resolutions. It is a chance to right those wrongs, and to become and do anything you set you mind to. For the next few days we will be writing and drawing in your sketchbooks while looking back on 2011 and making changes for 2012. You will be making a "good riddance" page as well as a "hopes and dreams" page. You will also be creating a "bucket list" and a goal setting page.
